Our Story
Teuta Boat Tours is a family-run business based in Vlorë, Albania, with deep roots in the local seafaring tradition. Captain Jasin, was among the very first in Vlorë to bring privately owned wooden fishing boats to the city after the fall of communism in the 1990s. He helped restore these traditional boats in Italy before bringing them back to Albania — starting a new chapter for coastal life in Vlorë.
In 2010, Captain Jasin and his wife Valentina shared a new vision: to open their love for the sea to visitors from around the world. Together, they launched fishing tours for tourists, eventually transitioning fully into guided boat tours as interest grew. Their shared passion, experience, and dedication became the foundation of Teuta Boat Tours.
Valentina holds a special place in our story — not only as co-founder, but also as a pioneer. She was the first woman in Vlorë to actively work with boats, starting a new chapter for women on the sea in Albania. Valentina was fully involved in the restoration and transformation of our two boats, Teuta and Teuta II.
Captain Jasin knows these waters like few others. During the communist era, he served his mandatory military duty on Sazan Island itself — giving him firsthand knowledge of the area’s hidden spots, history, and marine life. That same deep connection now guides every tour we offer.
At Teuta Boat Tours, we’re proud to offer authentic, family-led experiences built on heritage, local knowledge, and a lifelong love for the sea.
What were once hardworking fishing vessels have been carefully restored and redesigned to fit the requirements for guided tours, while still preserving their authentic charm and traditional spirit of the area.
We’ve intentionally kept our boats small and personal — not just to offer a more relaxed and intimate atmosphere, but also to avoid overwhelming the secluded beaches and fragile ecosystem of the Karaburun-Sazan Marine Park. For us, preserving both the environment and the authentic local boating tradition has always been essential.
